Notre Dame goes small to beat Miami, and Mike Bray is pretty excited about it

No. 12 Notre Dame trailed Miami by one at the half and found itself down 12 with 15 minutes left to play. That’s when coach Mike Bray decided to roll the dice and go with an all-guard lineup. It worked: the Irish made 7-of-15 threes in the second half and charged back to defeat the Hurricanes 75-70.
Jerian Grant was great, as always. The senior guard finished with 23 points and eight assists on 8-of-10 shooting to power Notre Dame. V.J. Beachem added 13 off the bench in the second half.
Notre Dame is now 17-2. It’s the program’s best start since 1978-79. The Irish play at Virginia Tech and N.C. State before hosting Duke on Jan. 28
