Mick Cronin hasn't coached the Cincinnati Bearcats during the last three games after suffering an aneurysm Dec. 20. On Friday, the school announced Cronin will not coach again this season.
Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin will miss season with health issues
Larry Davis will serve as the interim coach for games and practices.

Cronin’s vascular condition is non-life threatening, but he will not lead the Bearcats in games or practices for the rest of this season. He will continue to run the program, which will include game planning, recruiting and leading the coaching staff.
Assistant Larry Davis will take over for Cronin during his absence. Davis has previous head coaching experience, compiling a 124-139 record at Furman from 1998-2006.
Cronin signed a seven-year extension this past summer after leading the Bearcats to a 27-7 record and a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament last season. Cincinnati was upset by Harvard in its first tournament game, but it was still the program’s fourth straight appearance in the Big Dance. Cronin was in his ninth season at the school this year.
Things haven’t been as easy this season for Cincinnati without departed All-American Sean Kilpatrick, but the Bearcats are still 9-3 overall with losses to VCU, Nebraska and Ole Miss. Cincinnati opens conference play against SMU Saturday.
