North Carolina has landed a top-100 guard in the class of 2016. Seventh Woods, a 6’1 combo guard from Columbia, S.C., chose the Tar Heels over South Carolina on Wednesday afternoon. He joins big man Tony Bradley and wing Brandon Robinson as UNC’s third commit in the class of 2016.
4-star recruit Seventh Woods commits to North Carolina
Roy Williams and UNC received a commitment from high-flying high school senior Seventh Woods on Wednesday.

Woods is ranked as the No. 53 player in the class of 2016 by ESPN. He’s considered one of the most explosive players in the country.
Woods became a mixtape phenomenon during his freshman year of high school when a highlight package touted him as the top 14-year-old in America. The hype slowed down following a series of injuries, but Woods is still a great grab for a North Carolina team that needed help in the backcourt.
Woods offers North Carolina the versatility of being able to play on or off the ball. With Marcus Paige set to graduate after this season and Nate Britt and Joel Berry III entering their senior and junior years next season, respectively, Woods will be a key part of a North Carolina team looking to keep things rolling well into the future.
The Tar Heels begin this season as our No. 4 team.
