Wednesday was good to the No. 5 Kansas Jayhawks. First, Bill Self's team learned that star freshman center Cheick Diallo would be eligible to play starting Dec. 1. Then Kansas went out and dominated No. 19 Vanderbilt in the second half to claim the championship at the Maui Invitational, 70-63.

The Jayhawks shot 62.5 percent in the second half to win the the Maui Invitational.


The Jayhawks were led by junior guard Wayne Selden, who caught fire in Maui. Selden finished the night with 25 points and six rebounds on 8-of-11 shooting from the field. In his three games in the tournament, Selden scored 19.3 points per game on 80-percent shooting (12-for-15) from three-point range.
He broke some ankles, too.
Devonte` Graham added 12 points and six rebounds for Kansas in the win.
Vanderbilt took a lead into halftime, but couldn't get stops consistently in the second half. Star center Damian Jones finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the loss, while Luke Kornet added 14 points and four blocks.
The win moves Kansas to 4-1. Vanderbilt falls to 5-1.
