Syracuse and Texas A&M were never supposed to make it this far at the Battle 4 Atlantis. Both teams pulled Thanksgiving day upsets, with the Orange topping UConn and the Aggies taking out No. 10 Gonzaga to set up the title game. The two teams went back and forth on Friday, but Syracuse took control late to win the tournament with a 74-67 victory.

The unranked Orange claimed the tournament title with a decisive victory over Texas A&M.


Syracuse was on fire from three-point range throughout the game, finishing 11-of-25 from downtown. Four players -- Michael Gbinije, Tyler Lydon, Malachi Richardson and Trevor Cooney -- hit multiple threes for the Orange.
Gbinije led the way with 20 points and four assists, with all four of his makes from the field coming from deep. Cooney (15 points) and Richardson (16 points) were also consistent offensive threats to help the Orange move to 6-0.
Freshman Tyler Lydon was great again, cementing his status as the breakout player of the tournament. Lydon finished with 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds off the bench.
Texas A&M was led by Jalen Jones, who scored a season-high 23 points.
