Seton Hall has suspended guard Sterling Gibbs two games for striking Villanova point guard Ryan Arcidiacono in the face on Monday, the school announced. Gibbs was given a flagrant foul and ejected.

The Pirates’ will be without their leading scorer for the next two games.


This happened with Seton Hall trailing big in the second half in a game the Pirates would lose 80-54. It was Seton Hall’s fifth straight loss. While the Pirates looked like an NCAA Tournament team not long ago, the recent skid has taken them out of the bracket in SB Nation’s latest projection.
Gibbs took to Twitter to apologize shortly after the game.

Seton Hall’s next two games are at St. John’s on Feb. 21 and vs. Creighton on Feb. 21. Gibbs will permitted to return against Providence on March 4 in the Pirates’ second-to-last regular season game.
Gibbs is Seton Hall’s leading scoring, putting up 16.7 points per game this season.
