College basketball schedule and results: No. 7 Arizona cruises past Colorado

Vanderbilt rallied for a big victory over Tennessee Thursday night. Feeling a little too hyped after the win, Commodore guard Wade Baldwin -- who’d stoked a little rivalry before the matchup -- clapped in an opponent’s face as players filed into handshake lines:

Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings, understandably irritated, blew his top and uttered some regrettable words that made it onto the national TV broadcast:

DO NOT FOUL THREE-POINT SHOOTERS. That’s one of the most basic things in college hoops. ESPECIALLY DO NOT DO IT WHEN YOU ARE LEADING BY A FEW POINTS WITH LITTLE TIME LEFT. That’s an addition to that basic rule. MSU forgot that in drastic fashion.

First, Branden Dawson fouled Joey King while he was shooting a three with 14 seconds left. King hit all three. MSU went 1-for-2 the following possession. On the next trip down the court, Gavin Schilling fouled Carlos Morris on ANOTHER three ... and he hit it!

Seconds after VCU star Treveon Graham’s three-pointer tied the game at 52, Richmond’s ShawnDre’ Jones had the opportunity to win the game with a ridiculously difficult attempt at the buzzer.

Simply saying the shot didn’t go in and the game went to overtime doesn’t really do the moment justice.

Karl-Anthony Towns is 7-feet tall, 250 pounds, able to hit perimeter jump shots and athletic enough to do THIS. Enjoy him while you can, college basketball fans, because he won’t be playing at this level for long.
