The high school class of 2016 is believed to have a few special basketball talents at the top of the rankings. Harry Giles is in that mix. The 6’10, 220-pound power forward from Winston-Salem, N.C. is a junior at Wesleyan Christian Academy and widely considered one of the top five prospects in his class. He’s the type of player every college program in the country would love to have.
5-star recruit Harry Giles cuts list to 8, includes Kentucky, Duke, Ohio State
Giles is ranked No. 2 in his class by ESPN.

Giles took to Twitter to cut his final list to eight schools on Monday. Those schools are: Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, Ohio State, North Carolina, UNLV and Wake Forest.
The top talent in 2016 is considered by some to be on par with the better high school classes to have come through in recent years. Giles is the No. 1 big man in the United States now that 7-footer Thon Maker transferred to play at the Athlete Institute of Canada. The class also includes St. Louis wing Jayson Tatum and Detroit native Josh Jackson, a wing now playing in California. Point guard Dennis Smith and shooting guard Malik Monk are also highly touted.
While still only a junior in high school, Giles has been thought of as an elite talent for a while. He has recovered well since suffering a devastating knee injury at the FIBA World Championships for Team USA’s U-16 squad in Uruguay in June of 2013; he tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus.
