The nation's best teams and most exciting players will gather in Greensboro, N.C. this week for the ACC Tournament. Things will tip off on Tuesday and continue through Saturday, with every game televised on ESPN or ESPN2 and the ACC Network.

One of the best conferences in the country starts its premier tournament on Tuesday.

The top five teams are more or less locked into the NCAA Tournament -- Virginia, Duke, Notre Dame, Louisville and North Carolina won't be required to do much to punch their tickets. The real intrigue lies in the bubble section. N.C. State and Miami can solidify their resumes with a good win or two, although the Hurricanes are more bubbly than other teams in this conference.
One team that desperately needs a boost is Pittsburgh. The Panthers’ bubble all but burst after closing out the regular season with three straight losses, and they find themselves playing a red-hot Wolfpack in the second round. Pittsburgh will need to pull off several big wins this week just to get back in the conversation, and even then they could end up disappointed on Selection Sunday.
The format
The ACC tournament will be without one familiar face this year after Syracuse self-imposed a postseason ban. As a result, 14 teams will compete. The top four seeds get a double-bye into the quarterfinals, while the next six teams have a single bye into the second round. The bottom four teams must play each other in the first round. After the first two rounds, the tournament follows a standard eight-team format.
