Conference USA basketball tournament 2015: Bracket, schedule and scores

UAB knocked off Middle Tennessee to claim Conference USA’s automatic NCAA Tournament bid.

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

The Conference USA tipped off its tournament Wednesday and continues through Saturday, with the winner earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

In most years this would be a one-bid field, but there is one interesting at-large possibility in play. Old Dominion has a 24-6 record with a solid RPI of 36, boasting wins over VCU and LSU. However, the Monarchs suffered some bad losses in conference play and fell to the No. 3 seed behind Louisiana Tech and UTEP. In other words, they’re one of the most bubbly mid-major teams this year.

Old Dominion was upset in the quarterfinal by Middle Tennessee, which could make for a long Selection Sunday for Jeff Jones' squad.

Middle Tennessee also knocked of No. 2 UTEP before falling to UAB in the tournament final.
