WAC Tournament 2015: Bracket, schedule and scores

Will anybody stop New Mexico State from repeating as WAC champions?

Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

The WAC Tournament tips off on Thursday and will run for three days at the Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nev. This is not the same WAC we’ve seen in the past -- realignment has gutted the conference of many of its top contenders, and with so many teams relatively new to Division I play it could take a while before the conference settles down into respectability.

In other words, this is New Mexico State's tournament to lose. The Aggies cruised to the top seed with almost no trouble, with their only regular season conference loss coming to Seattle on the road. It would be a legitimate shock if any other team grabbed the WAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, but stranger things have happened in the past.

The format

Only seven teams are eligible, since Grand Canyon is transitioning to Division I. Top seed New Mexico State gets a bye to the semifinals, while the other six teams play in the quarterfinal round. After that, the tournament follows a standard four-team format.

The teams

  1. New Mexico State Aggies
  2. UMKC Kangaroos
  3. Seattle Redhawks
  4. CS-Bakersfield Roadrunners
  5. Utah Valley Wolverines
  6. Chicago State Cougars
  7. Texas-Pan American Broncos
