SB Nation 2015 March Madness Bracket

The 16-team field at the CBI has been announced, but the teams that turned down the invitational might be just as notable as the teams that accepted. Michigan, Penn State, Florida State, South Carolina, Memphis, Cal, Oregon State and Minnesota were among the teams from major conferences who decided not to compete in the postseason tournament. For those programs, the 2014-15 basketball season is over.

Realtime Bracket Game

Colorado is the only Power 5 team in the field after finishing 15-17 in the Pac-12 this season. The Buffaloes won their first game of the Pac-12 Tournament against Oregon State, but lost to Oregon in the quarterfinals.

Another name that jumps out from the field is Mercer. The Bears famously beat Jabari Parker and Duke last season in the round of 64 at the NCAA Tournament, but finished only 18-15 this season. Their opponent in the first round will be Stony Brook, a team that lost a heartbreaker to Albany in the America East title game.

The tournament begins on March 18, and concludes with a best-of-three series from March 30 to April 3.
