The NCAA Tournament tipped off Tuesday night with First Four games between 16 seeds Hampton and Manhattan and 11 seeds BYU and Ole Miss. The Pirates knocked off the Jaspers, followed by Ole Miss taking down BYU in a thriller.

The Pirates picked up a win in the first game of the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Ole Miss overcomes their largest deficit of the year to knock off BYU. What a night in college hoops.

Hampton 74, Manhattan 64
In the first game of the tournament, Hampton (17-17) controlled the action for 40 minutes against Manhattan. The Pirates’ reward: a game against undefeated Kentucky, the No. 1 seed in the Midwest.
Quinton Chievous led the way for Hampton, scoring 15 points on 7-of-12 shooting and pulling down 13 rebounds, but he left in the second half after dealing with multiple injuries. Chievous hit his head on the floor, suffered a knock on his knee and rolled his ankle twice throughout the game. Reginald Johnson added 15 points, five rebounds and three steals, while Brian Darden contributed 13 points, four assists, two rebounds and a steal. The Pirates shot 49.1 percent from the field and made 3-of-7 three-point attempts.
Manhattan (19-14) was never able to get into an offensive groove, hitting only 37.1 percent of its shots and 6-of-25 three-pointers. Shane Richards scored 17 points, but it was on just 6-of-16 shooting. Emmy Andujar was the only other Manhattan player to score in double figures, pouring in 11 points to go with eight rebounds. The Jaspers out-rebounded the Pirates, 41-37, but they committed 17 turnovers to 20 assists.
Hampton, the only team below .500 to make the Big Dance, plays Kentucky (34-0) on Thursday. Tip-off from the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville is scheduled for 9:40 p.m. ET.
Ole Miss 94, BYU 90
Tyler Haws won America's heart in his opening play-in game during March Madness. Not only did he pass Jimmer Fredette on BYU's all-time scoring list, he led the Cougars with 19 first-half points. BYU as a team had 10 first-half triples and the fastest team in the NCAA ran right through Ole Miss in the first set on Tuesday night, driving Ole Miss into a hole, giving them their largest halftime deficit of the season.
But from nowhere, Ole Miss responded with big dunks from M.J. Rhett and huge shots from Stefan Moody to eventually tie the game in the middle of the second half. Down by 17 at the half, the Rebels out-rebounded the Cougars and scored 62 second-half points to earn them the victory.
Ole Miss shot 60 percent in the second half behind Stefan Moody's 26 points and Rhett's 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting. The Rebels will move on to play Xavier in the Round of 64.
