2015 NCAA bracket results: Ohio State survives, Xavier cruises

The Buckeyes survived the first overtime of the 2015 NCAA Tournament, while Xavier had a much easier time.

The No. 6 Xavier Musketeers cruised in the second half to beat No. 11 Ole Miss, 76-57, and advance into the round of 32. Matt Stainbrook led all scorers with 20 points and added nine rebounds and five assists, and also did a bit of trash talking with his glasses wrapped around his face. C'mon Stain Train. Dee Davis had 17 for the Musketeers, who will move on to face No. 14 Georgia State, who pulled off the upset on No. 3 Baylor earlier in the day and had people falling out of their chairs.

Stefan Moody led Ole Miss with 14 points. The Rebels were done in by their poor shooting (6-27 from long range) and inability to get to the free throw line (five attempts vs. Xavier's 21).

Meanwhile, No. 10 Ohio State did not have nearly as easy a path into the round of 32, holding on in overtime to beat No. 7 VCU, 75-72. Keita Bates-Diop hit a three with 2:34 remaining in overtime to give the Buckeyes the lead for good. VCU's Treveon Graham had an open look at a long three that would've tied the game at 73 with less than 10 seconds left, but it rattled out and the Buckeyes came down with the rebound.

Ohio State star D’Angelo Russell led all scorers with 28 points on 10-20 shooting, and was bloodied by an elbow for his efforts late in the second half.

The Buckeyes move on and now have the pleasure of facing No. 2 Arizona, who avoided the upset bug and easily put away No. 15 Texas Southern.
