March Madness schedule 2015: Friday’s games are filled with upset potential

Could we see a big upset or two?

Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

Another exciting day of March Madness tips of on Friday as the second half of the “second round” gets underway. Half of the field of 32 is set, but there will be 16 more games to determine the remaining competitors. If bracket predictions are any indication, there could be a lot of upsets.

Two trendy upset picks play early in the day, when 12 seeds Buffalo and Wyoming take on West Virginia and Northern Iowa, respectively. The Bulls, coached by former Duke star Bobby Hurley, are making their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament after running through the MAC Tournament and will try to upset an up-and-down Mountaineers team. Meanwhile, Wyoming, led by star forward Larry Nance Jr., will have to get through a Northern Iowa team that is coming off one of its best seasons in recent history and has a nationally acclaimed star forward of its own in Seth Tuttle.

Later in the day are two more trendy upset picks -- UC Irvine against Louisville and Valparaiso against Maryland -- plus a game between No. 6 Providence and No. 11 Dayton that is essentially going to be a Dayton home game, since it will be played in Columbus. There’s a lot to watch out for on Friday. Here’s the schedule (all times ET and p.m.):
