2015 NCAA Tournament TV schedule: Kentucky marches on, underdogs look to stay alive

Two No. 14 seeds, an all-Indiana matchup, and the No. 1 overall seed highlight the Saturday schedule.

Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

The first day of the NCAA Tournament gave us madness of monumental proportions, and as the teams that played on Thursday return to the court, one can expect more of the same.

No. 14 UAB busted the brackets of many when it upset No. 3 Iowa State on Thursday afternoon, and the Blazers will face fellow double-digit seed UCLA. The No. 11 Bruins beat No. 6 SMU on a controversial goaltend call in the final seconds, and will look to further justify their selection into the field by advancing to the Sweet 16.

A showdown between No. 3 Notre Dame and No. 6 Butler will also be one to watch. The Fighting Irish avoided an upset at the hands of Northeastern in the first game on Thursday, while Butler outlasted Texas. It’ll be a battle for Hoosier State supremacy, taking place in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Georgia State is the other No. 14 seed that advanced to the Round of 32. The Panthers topped Baylor by a point on one of the most dramatic final shots you will ever see, as R.J. Hunter hit a three from way beyond the arc, sending his father and coach, Ron Hunter, flying off his stool.

But it’s not just the underdogs in action. No. 1 seeds Kentucky and Villanova both advanced easily against far weaker competition, but will face stiffer challenges on Saturday. Villanova gets NC State, which topped LSU on a buzzer-beating tip-in from Beejay Anya. Meanwhile, Kentucky is paired with Cincinnati. The Bearcats erased a seven-point deficit in the final minute of regulation against Purdue to win in overtime.

It all gets going shortly after noon, and by this evening, half of the Sweet 16 will have taken shape.

As we’ve come to expect, the eight-game slate on Saturday will take place across the CBS and Turner family of networks. Take a look at the full schedule below. All times are Eastern:
