Wisconsin vs. Oregon, 2015 NCAA Tournament: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online
Wisconsin and Oregon square off for a spot in the Sweet 16. Here’s how to watch.
The Wisconsin Badgers are eyeing their second consecutive trip to the Final Four, and perhaps a shot at a national championship. But first, they need to reach the Sweet 16. That will be the goal on Sunday when they face No. 8 seed Oregon in the Round of 32 in Omaha.
As the top seed in the West, Wisconsin toppled No. 16 seed Coastal Carolina, 86-72, Friday night to advance. Oregon downed Oklahoma State, 79-73, a little earlier in the 8-9 game.
Those wins set up a rematch of a contest from last year, when Wisconsin beat Oregon 85-77 in Milwaukee. The Ducks led by 12 at halftime of that game, but the Badgers rallied behind 19 points from Frank Kaminsky. Every Wisconsin starter scored in double figures and played at least 32 minutes in that game.
Joseph Young had 29 to lead Oregon against Wisconsin last year, and he channeled his past tournament success on Friday in the Ducks' win over Oklahoma State. The Pac-12 Player of the Year overcame a slow start to score 27 points against the Cowboys, including 15 in a pivotal stretch that spanned both halves and turned a two-point Oregon deficit into a five-point lead.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin had a tough time putting away Coastal Carolina Friday night, but a dominating double-double (27 points, 12 rebounds) from National Player of the Year candidate Kaminksy pushed the Badgers into the next round. Kaminksy was 10-of-14 from the field, along with 3-of-5 from three-point range. Sam Dekker poured on 20 more on 8-of-15 shooting, while Nigel Hayes added 15 of his own.
The win was the seventh in a row for Wisconsin, which has not lost since Feb. 24 at Maryland. Oregon is on a streak of its own, going 8-1 since Feb. 18.
And so the Badgers and the Ducks will take the court on Sunday for the right to play in the Sweet 16 in Los Angeles. Here’s everything you need to know to follow the action live:
