Security has been heightened ahead of Monday’s NCAA Women’s Tournament game between No. 1 Maryland and No. 8 Princeton after the niece of president Barack Obama was reported to be the subject of a threat phoned in earlier in the day.

Leslie Robinson is a freshman forward on Princeton.


Maryland’s athletic department found an eight-minute voice mail that said a man was driving on campus with a Glock handgun in his possession. Leslie Robinson was the subject of the threat. Robinson is a freshman forward for Princeton and the daughter of Michelle Obama’s brother, Craig Robinson.
President Obama appeared at Princeton’s first round game over the weekend to watch the Tigers beat Green Bay 80-70 to set up the game with top-seeded Maryland. Robinson did not appear in the game.
Craig Robinson is a Princeton alum who was named Ivy League Player of the Year twice and was fired as head coach at Oregon State last season after six years on the job. Michelle Obama also graduated from Princeton in 1985.
