You need to watch the new mixtape for 5-star recruit Josh Jackson

Ricky O'Donnell
Ricky O'Donnell has covered basketball at all levels for more than a decade at SB Nation. He’s currently the Associate Director of Programming.

The recruiting class of 2016 is loaded with elite talent. Josh Jackson is one of the players ranked at the top of the class.

Jackson is a 6’7 wing from Detroit who transferred to play his junior season of high school ball in California. He’s rated the No. 1 player in the class of 2016, which also includes highly touted prospects like St. Louis wing Jayson Tatum, North Carolina power forward Harry Giles and Arkansas guard Malik Monk.

Jackson is about to enter the most important period for a recruit, the summer grassroots circuit before his senior season. Jackson, Giles and Tatum are each about to draw a ton of attention, and mixtapes like this one from Jackson show why.

It’s worth noting that Jackson is actually old enough to be in the class of 2015, but he chose not to reclassify like Andrew Wiggins and Andre Drummond did in past years. Jackson was born on Feb. 10, 1997. Tatum, meanwhile, was born March 3, 1998.
