NJIT fans storm court after winning second-round CIT game

The Highlanders don’t have a conference, but they have a solid team and apparently a dedicated fan base.

Who says a second-round win in the CIT doesn’t warrant a court storm?

When you’re NJIT, the only independent team in Division I, every win is a big win. Add to it that this is NJIT’s first ever postseason appearance and that this victory puts the Highlanders into the final 16 of the tournament, and excessive celebration should be expected.

Here’s what the scene looked like in Newark when NJIT topped Cleveland State, 80-77:
