University at Buffalo has reached an agreement in principal to nearly double head basketball coach Bobby Hurley’s contract this coming season, according to The Buffalo News.

The new deal would reportedly raise his base pay to more than $550,000 using funds raised from university donors and keep him at the university after a successful 24-10 season led to the school’s first ever tournament berth for the Bulls.
Before officially agreeing to Buffalo’s offer, Hurley still plans to interview for a position at DePaul University, per ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.
Buffalo was a No. 12 seed in this year’s tournament and lost in the opening round to West Virginia in a tight 68-62 defeat. Hurley is 42-20 in his first two seasons as a head coach and the Bulls lose just two seniors from this year’s team as they head into the 2015-16 season. Hurley won two NCAA championships as a player at Duke in 1991 and 1992.
