Wisconsin guard Traevon Jackson hasn’t played since fracturing his foot against Rutgers on Jan. 11, but his return to the Badgers’ lineup is imminent. Jackson will play on Thursday when Wisconsin and North Carolina meet in the Sweet 16. The senior won’t have a minutes restriction.

Jackson was Wisconsin’s starting point guard until going down with the injury. In his absence, sophomore Bronson Koenig has stepped up and given the Badgers an extra scoring kick. Wisconsin is 18-1 with Jackson out of the lineup, with the only loss coming on Feb. 24 at Maryland.

While nothing is official yet, Jackson figures to come off the bench in his return against the Tar Heels. It will be a nice boost for the Badgers’ bench if he can give them quality minutes behind Koenig and Josh Gasser.

Jackson is a senior and was averaging 9.4 points and 2.9 assists in 17 games before injury. Should Wisconsin beat North Carolina, the Badgers will face the winner of No. 2 Arizona vs. No. 6 Xavier. Wisconsin beat Arizona in the Elite Eight last season by one point in overtime to advance to the Final Four.
