Kentucky is going off as an 11-point favorite over Notre Dame at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This will be the 13th time in Kentucky's last 14 games that the team is favored by 11 points or more.
If Notre Dame has been paying any attention to Kentucky in the tournament so far, you won't be hearing the Irish saying anything publicly about how they are going to beat the Wildcats. Armed with extra motivation that a dominant 36-0 SU team doesn't really need, Kentucky smashed West Virginia 78-39 after a guard on the Mountaineers had stated that the Wildcats would lose on Thursday.
Kentucky has been to the Elite Eight three times in the last four NCAA tournaments and is a perfect 3-0 SU and ATS in those three games.
The Fighting Irish finally covered the spread in March Madness, breaking out of an 0-8 ATS slump in the tournament with an 81-70 win over Wichita State as a 2-point underdog. After looking vulnerable through the first two games of the tournament, Notre Dame showed why it was one of the best offensive teams in the country this season with an 81-point effort against a very good Wichita State defense.
The Fighting Irish will need another great shooting day to have a shot against Kentucky. Notre Dame is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games as a double-digit underdog with four outright upsets.
