It took a clutch three-pointer from Aaron Harrison and some timely defense, but the Kentucky Wildcats beat Notre Dame, 68-66, on Saturday and advanced to the Final Four for the second consecutive year.

After Kentucky had destroyed every other opponent and beat West Virginia by 39, everyone expected this game to be more or less the same. Instead, Notre Dame gave the Wildcats everything they could handle and Kentucky still ended up winning in the end. Last year, of course, Kentucky lost to Connecticut in the NCAA Finals. There’s no reason to think this year can’t be more like 2012, when they won it all. A potential matchup with Duke or Michigan State looms in the final, but before that can happen, the Wildcats will need to get past No. 1 Wisconsin. Many view the Badgers as the No. 2 team in the country behind Kentucky and will likely be the Wildcats’ toughest test yet.
