CIT Tournament 2015 scores and bracket: Evansville and Northern Arizona advance to Championship

The CIT Tournament Championship has been set.

Evansville will meet Northern Arizona for the 2015 CIT Tournament Championship after both teams pulled out impressive wins on Tuesday night.

D.J. Balentine dropped 28 points for to help Evansville to a 13-point win over UT-Martin, while Adam Wing scored 16 points of his own and Blake Simmons added 13 to lift the Purple Aces to their 23rd win of the season. The Aces will host the Lumberjacks in the title game and will be seeking their first title of any kind since they’ve been a Division I team, dating back to their last Division II title in 1971.

For Northern Arizona, Quinton Upshur scored 23 points to lead the Lumberjacks past N.J.I.T. by seven points in the semifinals of the CIT. It was the Lumberjacks’ defense that kept the Highlanders at bay for most of the night, keeping them to a poor perimeter shooting percentage and average from the field.

It wasn’t as if Northern Arizona was shooting the best percentages either, but Aaseem Dixon helped Upshur keep the Lumberjacks afloat with his own 19 points in the win.

Scores:

N. Arizona 68, NJIT 61

Evansville 79, UT Martin 66
