2015 McDonald’s All-American Game final score and stats: East team romps to 111-91 win

The nations’ top college basketball prospects gathered in Chicago Wednesday night for the 2015 McDonald’s All-American Game. As a pure spectacle and showcase for the young kids’ talents, there weren’t many competitive stakes, but both teams battled to an entertaining back-and-forth game before the East team pulled away with a 111-91 win.

The East team took a 49-46 lead into halftime and kept the West team at arm’s length for the second half, eventually opening up a double-digit lead. The East squad boasted the top two prospects in the country in Ben Simmons and Jaylen Brown. Simmons is already committed to LSU, but Brown has yet to pick a school for the 2015-16 season (he has interest in Michigan, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas and California, per 247Sports).

Simmons finished with just seven points on 3-of-8 shooting, but he dominated the glass with 10 rebounds. Brown had nine points on 4-of-8 shooting and grabbed six boards.

Simmons and Brown were the biggest names on the East, but Cheick Diallo took home the MVP award. The 6’9 forward scored 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting and pulled down 10 rebounds. Ranked No. 6 in the country by 247Sports, Diallo has offers from Iowa State, Kansas, St. John’s and Pittsburgh.

The West team also had plenty of highlights despite the loss. Allonzo Trier led his side with 17 points on 6-of-18 shooting, knocking down 2-of-5 three-pointers and grabbing four rebounds. Trier is on his way to Arizona next fall. P.J. Dozier also had a quality game with 14 points, four rebounds and three assists. South Carolina fans will welcome the 6’6 shooting guard after a disappointing 2014-15 season.

Brandon Ingram was another uncommitted player who flashed for the West team. The 6’8 forward recorded 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting and had five rebounds. He is ranked No. 12 by 247Sports and has offers from UCLA, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke and North Carolina.
