Nike Hoops Summit 2015: Time, TV schedule, rosters and more

The Nike Hoops Summit will be a great chance for basketball fans to get a glimpse at the stars of tomorrow. Here’s how to watch it.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Nike Hoops Summit has become a must-watch affair for basketball junkies looking to see the stars of the future before they make it to the big stage of college basketball. The annual event has been around for 20 years and has featured some of the NBA's biggest names like Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis.

The best players in the world 19 years old and under will be divided in two squads: Team USA and World Team. Last year Team USA won, led by Justise Winslow’s 16 points. Emmanuel Mudiay led all scorers with 20 of his own. Both players are projected to go in the top five in this year’s draft, which shows the talent level on display in the competition.

This year the World Team is featuring the consensus No. 1 prospect in the class of 2015, Australian forward Ben Simmons. The 6’9 phenom has the athleticism and the physical tools to be a matchup nightmare at the college level, thanks to his varied skill set, and will have a chance to prove his worth against his contemporaries before his first season at LSU.

Other notable players in the World Team include centers Skal Labissiere from Haiti and Zhou Qi of China. This game will also give people a chance to check up on Thon Maker, an Australian 7-footer who received a lot of hype thanks to having a guard’s game in a big man’s body.

The USA team will be looking at 6’7 forward Jaylen Brown to match anything Simmons does for the World Team. Brown is an über athletic prospect that makes up what he lacks in polish with his physical tools. He still remains uncommitted but is considering Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, North Carolina, Michigan, Cal, UGA and Georgia Tech.

Brandon Ingram is another very intriguing prospect with significant upside. The 6’9 forward has the length and evolving shooting touch to become a special player down the road. He’s thought to be deciding between Duke and North Carolina and whichever school lands him could have a gem on their hands. Point guard Isaiah Briscoe and shooting guard Luke Kennard are two other players to keep an eye on.

Time: 3 p.m. ET, Saturday, April 11

Place: Moda Center. Portland, Oregon.
