Kelvin Sampson and the Houston Cougars signed shooting guard Damyean Dotson on Wednesday. If that name rings a bell, you know why this is a controversial move.
Houston signs former Oregon player involved in rape scandal
Damyean Dotson is expected to be eligible for the 2015-16 season.

Dotson was one of three players booted from Oregon a year ago after being named in a rape investigation. Dotson was the only player of the three to be charged following the investigation, but the charges were dropped two weeks later for insufficient evidence. Dotson is expected to be eligible to play for the upcoming season.
Dotson, who is a Houston native, had been taking classes at Houston Community College, but wasn’t playing basketball. He was once a highly-touted recruit who averaged 11.4 points per game for the Ducks as a freshman, and then 9.4 points per game as a sophomore.
The Cougars finished 13-16 in their first season under Sampson last year. Dotson will be one of six new players eligible to play in 2015-16.
