Kris Dunn’s college career was plagued by injuries for two seasons before he finally enjoyed a breakout year for Providence this past season. Many believed Dunn played his way into being a first-round NBA draft pick, but the point guard isn’t ready to turn pro just yet. Dunn averaged 15.6 pointsm 7.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game last season at Providence. He was considered one of the best defenders in the country (2.7 steals per game) and made progress on his outside jump shot (35.1 percent from three-point range on 2.3 attempts per game). He was ranked as the No. 13 prospect in the 2015 Draft, according to DraftExpress.
Providence is losing leading scorer LaDontae Henton and starting center Carson Desrosiers to graduation and third-leading scorer Tyler Harris to transfer. The team will return sophomores-to-be Ben Bentil and Jalen Lindsey.
