With Kentucky and Wisconsin coming down to the wire, every possession is important. That included a Kentucky possession that ended with Wisconsin’s Josh Gasser down on the court after getting hit in the face by Trey Lyles.
Kentucky didn’t get called for a slap to the face and Twitter freaked out about it
Refs decided against a flagrant foul, which led to the majority of Twitter losing their minds.

Many thought the refs would rule it a flagrant foul, which would have given Wisconsin two shots and the ball. Instead, the refs ruled it was nothing. Twitter did not agree with the call. Here is a sampling:
No foul, & then a travel?!?! These refs need to get their eyes checked #Bogus
— Kate Z (@KZskier15) April 5, 2015 So a UK player intentionally hits a Wisconsin player and there is no call but the next play Wisco gets an offensive foul? #FinalFour sucks
— Lexi Wagner (@sexylexiwags) April 5, 2015 An inadvertent left hook? No foul? Paaaaaaalease! #GoBadgers
— Jason Wredberg (@jdwredberg) April 5, 2015 Did coach cal pay off the refs during halftime?? Are you kidding me? He slapped the guy in the face. Oh looks like no foul.
— Ryan Callahan (@rcallahan55) April 5, 2015 Refs are working for KU. Bullshit no call on the clear "flagrant foul" whack to the face! Followed by another charge call. #bullshit
— Danny Bones (@BonesMaloney) April 5, 2015 That was a TERRIBLE no call on that flagrant foul by the refs. He hit him in the face bro
— Noah Hamlin (@Noah_Hamlin) April 5, 2015 How you straight ninja chop a dude and get no foul called? only in the NCAA! #KentuckyVsWisconsin
— David Burke (@revampedconceit) April 5, 2015 No flagrant foul for a smack to the face, then a phantom charge after a phantom charge wiped out a 3... refs clearly have got the signal...
— Paul Wezner (@TigsTown) April 5, 2015 Well, college basketball is rigged. @UKAthletics, you and your players are disgusting. A player punched someone and there was no foul.
— Michael Scott (@OriginalMScott) April 5, 2015 Oh. Ok. So this game is rigged. Fucking called it all UK calls all the way. No flagrant, and an offensive foul. If it's a win it'll be dirty
— Amanda Kellar (@amkellz) April 5, 2015 NO FOUL MY ASS! YOUR ASS SHOULD BE FIRED! REFS FOR THIS GAME ARE HORRIBLE!
— Blake (@blake040796) April 5, 2015 I know the @NCAA is corrupt, but what a heinous no call on a blatant flagrant foul. #WISvsUK
— Corey Nolen (@CoreyStoreys) April 5, 2015 Punch a guy: no call. Don't push off: offensive foul
— Isaac Gilliam (@IsaacGilliam) April 5, 2015 I see @NCAA is letting the refs cheat for Kentucky again No flagrant?? How is that not a blocking foul the next drive?
— Dave (@DaveSuperD) April 5, 2015 This reffing is unbelievable. There is no way that is not a flagrant foul on kentucky.
— Jordann Ferguson (@fergy2314) April 5, 2015 While many thought that call went against Wisconsin, the Badgers caught a break moments later when they scored on a putback that clearly occurred after the shot clock had expired.
