Former Baylor coach Dave Bliss hired at NAIA school
Bliss has been out of coaching since a 2003 scandal at Baylor.

Bliss resigned for covering up NCAA violations. Most notably, he made improper payments to late Baylor player Patrick Dennehy and then framed Dennehy as a drug dealer after his murder to explain where the money had come from. Bliss has a book coming out soon, in which he writes that he has changed himself through his faith in God:
“I don’t think for a minute any of you would do something as foolish as what I did,” Bliss writes, “but you need to understand something: I didn’t think I would, either. My obedience to what God can do with my story is truly what drives me nowadays. Although there are parts of my story that I am not proud of, I am grateful for God’s faithfulness.”
Southwestern Christian president Reggies Wenyika supported Bliss in a statement to NewsOK:
Southwestern president Reggies Wenyika said, “Coach Bliss fits well within our mission and culture and embraces what a Christian-based education is all about.”
