— tyus battle (@kidmamba23) May 11, 2015 Battle is entering his senior year of high school, meaning he’ll be eligible at Michigan for the 2016-17 season. Battle would seem to be a natural successor for Caris LeVert, who will be a senior this upcoming season.
Battle is ranked as the No. 14 prospect in the class of 2016, according to ESPN. He is now the second-highest rated player in the class to make a college choice so far.
The commitment registers as something of a surprise. Duke led 247 Sports’ Crystal Ball for Battle with 78 percent of guesses. Syracuse was second with 22 percent of guesses.
This is the third commitment for Michigan in the class of 2016.
