The Connecticut Huskies have added one of the best immediately eligible transfers on the market. Sterling Gibbs, who was Seton Hall's leading scorer last season, is headed to UConn as a graduate transfer, he announced on Saturday via Twitter.

The highly coveted guard is headed to Storrs.

Gibbs, a 6’1 guard, began his college career at Texas and spent the last two seasons with the Pirates. He was effective immediately as a redshirt sophomore in 2013-14, finishing second on the team in scoring by averaging 13.2 points per game. Last season, he bumped that scoring average up to 16.3 with 3.8 assists per game for a Seton Hall team that finished 16-15.
Gibbs figures to be a starter in a Huskies backcourt that needs to replace graduating senior Ryan Boatright, who was the team's leading scorer last season. Coach Kevin Ollie should have a solid team with sophomore wing Daniel Hamilton, guard Rodney Purvis and big man Amida Brimah. UConn also added Cornell transfer Shonn Miller, a 6'7 forward, this offseason.
