The nation’s top uncommitted prospect is going to Cal. Jaylen Brown, a 6’7 wing out of Georgia, committed to Cuonzo Martin and the Golden Bears on Friday night, where he’ll join forces with another five-star incoming freshman, big man Ivan Rabb.
5-star wing Jaylen Brown commits to Cal over Kentucky, Michigan and North Carolina
Cuonzo Martin has landed the explosive swing man out of Georgia.

Brown, ranked No. 4 in the class of 2015 by ESPN, was last uncommitted top player available. He chose Cal over Kentucky, Michigan and North Carolina. As recently as a week ago, he was also considering Kansas, Georgia, Georgia Tech and UCLA.
This was a commitment no one saw coming a few months ago. Brown took an unofficial visit to Cal in March, meaning he had to pay his own way out to the West Coast. It set off speculation that he could join Rabb, and now Martin has pulled off one of the biggest and most unlikely coups of the offseason.
Brown was a McDonald’s All-American and played in the Jordan Brand Classic. He’s a 6’6, 220-pound wing who is currently projected by Draft Express to No. 2 overall in the 2016 NBA Draft.
Adding Brown to a team that already includes Rabb (ESPN’s No. 8 prospect) and returning guards Tyrone Wallace and Jabari Bird gives Cal a legitimate shot in the Pac-12. The Golden Bears finished 18-15 last season.
