Jayson Tatum has committed to Duke. The 6’8 wing made has his announcement on ESPNU on Sunday morning after his grassroots team, the Saint Louis Eagles, defeated Harry Giles and Team CP3 in the semifinals of Nike’s Peach Jam event on a ridiculous buzzer-beater from teammate Jordan Barnes. Tatum chose Duke over UNC, Kentucky and Saint Louis.

Tatum is fresh off a gold medal run with the USA U19 squad in Greece in which he averaged 13.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He was one of four players from the class of 2016 on the roster and is one of the most coveted players of his class thanks to his feel for the game, jump shot and advanced passing skills.

Tatum is the No. 2 player in the class of 2016, according to ESPN. The only player ahead of him is Giles, and there have been rumors the two could play together in college. For more on Tatum, read our feature on why he’s one of the best players in his high school class.

After putting together a fantastic recruiting class in 2015, Tatum gives the Blue Devils a strong start to their next class.
