Kentucky has landed its second player in the class of 2016. Sacha Killeya-Jones, a 6’10 big man from Virginia, gave a verbal commitment to John Calipari and the Wildcats on Wednesday morning, according to Evan Daniels of Scout.

Killeya-Jones was originally a Virginia commit, but reopened his recruitment in June. Killeya-Jones had a strong summer playing in the Under Armour circuit for Team Felton on a squad that also included one of the top point guards in the class of 2017, Jalek Felton.

Killeya-Jones is ranked No. 51 in his class by Rivals and picked Kentucky over North Carolina, Kansas and Florida. He likely doesn't project as a one-and-done for Calipari, which means he should provide quality depth in the front court for a team set to lose Alex Poythress to graduation and likely Skal Labissiere to the NBA draft.

Killeya-Jones is a face-up big man who thrives off mid-range jumpers. Adding strength will be his biggest point of emphasis.

The Wildcats also have a commitment from New Zealand native Tai Wynyard in the class of 2016. Wynyard is another 6’10 big man and is expected to enroll at Kentucky for the second semester of this season.
