Sophomore forward Emmitt Holt has been dismissed from the Indiana Hoosiers after being cited for illegal possession of alcohol last week, the program announced on Monday. Indiana also announced that five-star freshman big man Thomas Bryant, who was cited with Holt, will be disciplined internally.
Indiana dismisses sophomore Emmitt Holt after another alcohol-related violation
The Hoosiers have parted ways with the sophomore forward.

Holt was not a first-time offender when it comes to alcohol-related violations at Indiana. In a far more serious incident one year ago, a car Holt was driving struck teammate Devin Davis and sent him to the hospital with a head injury. Holt had been drinking at the time of the incident. Though he was under Indiana’s legal limit at the time, he was also under 21 years old.
Davis and teammate Hanner Mosquera-Perea were each dismissed from Indiana in May after police found a small amount of marijuana in a backpack owned by Davis while Mosquera-Perea was present.
Bryant, a McDonald’s All-American in the class of 2015, is slated to be a major contributor in the front court for Indiana this season.
