Another talented Kansas big man is having his eligibility clouded by the NCAA. Five-star recruit Cheick Diallo has yet to be cleared by the NCAA, as the organization investigates his time at New York’s Our Savior New American high school, according to the Kansas City Star.

The Jayhawks will need the 6’9 big man available as soon as possible.

The dispute over Diallo’s eligibility comes just months after another five-star big man at Kansas, Cliff Alexander, was forced to sit out during the Jayhawks’ run in the NCAA Tournament over an eligibility issue. Diallo, a 6’9 power forward, was ranked as the No. 7 player in the class of 2015, according to ESPN.
Diallo isn’t the first Our Savior New American player to have trouble getting cleared. His teammate Davon Dillard, an Oklahoma State commit, has reportedly had trouble as well, according to the Kansas City Star. Former St. John’s center Chris Obekpa also graduated from the school. Update: Dillard has been cleared:

Self told the Kansas City Star that Diallo has done everything asked of him by the NCAA, but his status still remains in jeopardy for now. Self said he doesn’t “anticipate this being cleared up in the near future,” but wouldn’t speculate if it would run into the season.
This type of issue isn’t uncommon in August. Former Ohio State superstar D’Angelo Russell also wasn’t cleared by the NCAA at this time last year.
