4-star PF Javin DeLaurier commits to Duke, adds to Blue Devils’ No. 1 recruiting class
Duke keeps adding to the best recruiting class in the country.

DeLaurier picked Duke over North Carolina, Arizona, Stanford, Notre Dame and Texas. He made his announcement on Twitter:
— Javin DeLaurier (@javelin_22) September 27, 2015 DeLaurier is ranked as the No. 44 player in the class of 2016, according to ESPN. He joins five-star combo guard Frank Jackson and five-star wing Jayson Tatum in Duke’s recruiting class.
DeLaurier is a Charlottesville, Va. native and is listed at 6’9, 205 pounds. He’s considered a long, explosive athlete who projects as a shot blocking presence in college if he can add strength to his frame.
Duke is also favored to land big man Harry Giles, the No. 1 overall player in 2016, according to ESPN. The Blue Devils are also in the mix for five-star center Marques Bolden and five-star power forward Wenyen Gabriel, but it will be interesting to see if DeLaurier’s commitment alters the outlook of the other two front court players.
Either way, Duke already has the top recruiting class in the country even before Giles makes his decision. If Giles ends up at Duke, the Blue Devils will finish with the consensus No. 1 class. If he goes elsewhere, Michigan State could end up having the top class if it lands five-star wing Miles Bridges in addition to the three talented recruits Tom Izzo already has a commitment from in the class.
