It’s hard to blame Auburn fans for being excited after watching their team knock off Kentucky Saturday. This is the biggest win of the Bruce Pearl era and snaps an 18-game losing streak against the Wildcats. It’s a natural impulse for the fans to rush the court in a situation like this ... only unfortunately, it’s going to cost the school $50K.
Auburn stormed the court after beating Kentucky. It will cost them $50,000
Auburn’s win over Kentucky is going to cost the school.

The upset is complete and Auburn STORMS THE COURT! @AuburnMBB takes down No. 14 Kentucky, 75-70. pic.twitter.com/djyhfA2kPE
— SEC Network (@SECNetwork) January 16, 2016 Yep, that’s the standard fine for rushing the court in the SEC this season: $50K for first offense, $100K for second offense, $250K for third offense. As you can see, the SEC Network had no problem celebrating this cool thing their conference suddenly made illegal.
We’re guessing Bruce Pearl, whose contract at Auburn could be worth as much as $15.2 million, probably won’t mind picked up the tab.
