Thomas More College won back-to-back Division III women’s basketball titles in 2015 and 2016 behind the star play of Sydney Moss, the daughter of former All-Pro NFL wide receiver Randy Moss. On Wednesday, the NCAA announced Thomas More would have to vacate the first of those titles because of an impermissible benefit Moss received while injury.

The NCAA has stripped Thomas More College of its 2014-15 title because Moss was living with an assistant coach for free while rehabbing an injured knee. Even though Moss knew the assistant coach from her youth, the team was forced to vacate all 33 wins that season in addition to its title.

Moss originally played for Florida before transferring to Thomas More in northern Kentucky to be closer to home. She came the school’s all-time leading scorer, even dropping 63 points in one game.
Thomas More retained its 2015-16 title, for which Moss was eligible.
