College basketball’s leading scorer is 5’9, plays for Central Michigan, and has a chance to be the first D1 player to average 30 points per game since 1997. His name is Marcus Keene and if you’re not familiar with him already, that needs to change.
College basketball’s leading scorer is 5’9 and hit the most arrogant 3 of the year
We love everything about Central Michigan’s Marcus Keene.

Keene exploded for 40 points on Tuesday night against Green Bay in a performance that was so rad it led off Scott Van Pelt’s nighttime edition of SportsCenter. Please admire the swagger:

Keene was 12-of-23 from the field and 6-of-12 from three in that game. Oh yeah, he added 11 assists and seven rebounds in the win, too.
Through 10 games, Keene’s lowest scoring performance of the season is 23 points, which he’s done twice. Other than that, he’s scored at least 30 points in every game. He’s now averaging 31.4 points per game on the season. Valpo’s awesome senior forward Alec Peters is second at 25.4 points per game.
Keene isn’t just leading the country in scoring, he’s doing it by a mile.
Still, respect can be hard to come by for a 5’9 dude playing at Central Michigan. SportsCenter put up a graphic with teammate Braylon Rayson on accident. To be fair, Rayson also happens to be 5’9:

And they also misspelled his name:
. @Marcus3Keene is featured on @SportsCenter and then it messes up his name. Nooooooo! pic.twitter.com/vw5ddfT2UH

Please, America: it’s time you learn who Marcus Keene is. He’s awesome and deserves your attention.
