Montana State ripped 25 threes in one game against poor, helpless Northern Arizona

Montana State, ranked No. 256 overall by KenPom, is a good three-point shooting team. The Bobcats are hitting 38.1 percent of their threes this year, which ranks No. 37 in the country. But that doesn’t begin to explain what happened on Thursday night, when Montana State caught fire from behind the arc and finished only three treys short of the D-1 record for most threes made in a game.
Montana State shot 43 threes against Big Sky rival Northern Arizona, and they made 58.1 percent of them -- 25 to be exact. That’s the second-most in NCAA history. Freshman guard Tyler Hall led the way by making 8-of-11 from deep. He got plenty of help from his bench, who combined to make 15 threes, led by 5-of-5 shooting from Sam Neumann.
Montana State won 101-58. Better luck next time, Northern Arizona.
