The Atlantic 10 Tournament continues on Friday in Brooklyn, and after a largely unsurprising second day of action produced a couple of upsets and a firing, things should be a bit more lit as the weekend nears.

The quarterfinals of the A-10 Tournament could be great or awful for the teams in them.

The firing was of Saint Louis coach Jim Crews, whose program failed to sustain the momentum of late predecessor Rick Majerus into the middle of the decades, and it came after the Billikens fell to George Washington, earning the Colonials passage to a quarterfinal against Saint Joseph’s.
In other Thursday action, No. 9 Richmond topped No. 8 Fordham to set up a meeting with No. 1 Dayton, No. 10 Massachusetts upset No. 7 Rhode Island to get a game with No. 2 VCU, and No. 6 Davidson advanced to play No. 3 St. Bonaventure by handling No. 11 La Salle.
Of Friday's quarterfinals, the one with the biggest NCAA Tournament ramifications is undoubtedly Saint Joseph's-George Washington. The Hawks are in the field in most projections at the moment, but a bad loss to the Colonials could change things in a hurry — and given that George Washington is scrapping to get into the very bottom rungs of March Madness, it's possible that the Colonials will be a bit hungrier.
That’s not to say the others are lacking in bubble importance. While Dayton is likely to land within the field even with a loss to Richmond, VCU and St. Bonaventure are close to the edge of the bubble, closer even than fourth-seeded St. Joe’s, making holding serve against their Friday foes a critical part of staying in line for NCAA Tournament berths.
