Pac-12 Tournament 2016 schedule and bracket: Top teams set to be in semifinals

The Pac-12’s top seeds all remain. Can they produce Friday fireworks?

Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

The Pac-12 Tournament has been remarkably resistant to the strains of insanity that have plagued college basketball this season. Friday might be when that ends, as the conference’s ranked teams match up in semifinals.

The day's first semifinal pits Oregon against Arizona about six weeks after the teams' only meeting in 2016. In their January matchup, the Ducks got 24 points from Dillon Brooks and handed the Wildcats their only home loss of the year. Arizona will surely be looking for revenge in Las Vegas, but the Ducks have dreams of a No. 2 seed that might be hard to get without at least playing for the Pac-12 Tournament title.

In the late game, Utah will see Cal. The Bears earned a hard fought win over Gary Payton II and Oregon State early Friday morning behind a career-high 21 points and 15 rebounds from freshman Ivan Rabb. His reward? A prime time matchup with another projected NBA draft lottery pick, the Utes’ Jakob Poeltl.
