Tom Izzo teams aren't supposed to lose the way Michigan State lost to Middle Tennessee on Friday, a 15-2 upset that eliminated the Vegas betting favorite in its opening round game. This really might be the biggest upset in the history of the NCAA Tournament, and Izzo is taking it pretty hard.

Izzo choked up at the press conference and shed tears again when thinking about Denzel Valentine, the senior Player of the Year candidate who put up unprecedented numbers this season for the Spartans. Izzo could barely contain his emotions when asked about what Valentine meant to the program:

Everyone loves upsets in the NCAA Tournament, but there’s always another side to it, too. This has to be a tough defeat for Izzo to accept.
