2016 Printable NCAA bracket: Sweet 16 field is nearly set

The second round went mostly chalk on Saturday, and there are plenty of talented teams still standing.

The chaos of the first round has given way to the more familiar names coming out on top in the second round. With half of the Sweet 16field now set, we didn’t see a lot in big upsets on Saturday.

Here’s our updated printable bracket ready for you to follow.

After the thrill of Friday’s upsets, Saturday’s first game set the theme of the day, which was chalk dominating. No. 3 Miami ended No. 11 Wichita State’s bid to reach its third Sweet Sixteen in four years, putting the Shockers down, 65-57. The next game nearly provided some upset fireworks, but petered out with No. 4 Duke holding off a huge comeback from No. 12 Yale.

Later in the day, another Cinderella team saw its untimely demise with No. 12 Little Rock getting thumped by No. 4 Iowa State. No. 9 Butler gave No. 1 Virginia a good game and at times looked like they could be the first team to take down a No. 1 seed this year, but it was not to be. The other No. 9 seeds playing Saturday (Connecticut and Providence) were routed by their respective opponents.

There was one double-digit seed that pulled off the upset win, when No. 11 Gonzaga destroyed No. 3 Utah. However, is Gonzaga really considered a Cinderella team anymore? Don’t you revoke that title when you get a No. 1 seed (as the Zags did in 2013) and were a No. 2 last year? Oh well. It’s still an impressive performance for the Bulldogs, who were in real danger of missing the dance if they didn’t win the WCC Tournament.

Here are the complete scores from Saturday. Once again, be sure to keep up with our latest printable bracket.

No. 3 Miami 65, No. 11 Wichita State 57
