This was only possible because Xavier was called for a charge going for the game-winner with four seconds left. Badgers head coach Greg Gard called a surprise timeout as Koenig was charging up the floor, but it turned out to be the right decision. He drew up a play and Koenig nailed the biggest shot of his career.
