McDonald’s All-American Game 2016: Game time, TV schedule, rosters and live stream

The nation’s best college basketball recruits meet in Chicago on Wednesday for the annual McDonald’s All-American game.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The McDonald’s All-Star game is the annual showcase of the nation’s best high school players, many of whom will go on to be the nation’s best college basketball players. This year’s event takes place on Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN, or streamed at WatchESPN.

Last year’s game was headlined by Ben Simmons, who didn’t have quite the season he was hoping for at LSU, but he’s still in the running to be the top pick in this year’s NBA Draft. His biggest competition? Brandon Ingram, who also competed in the McDonald’s game. Other notable names from 2015 included Cal’s Jaylen Brown, Syracuse’s Malachi Richardson and Purdue’s Caleb Swanigan.

One of the biggest names to watch this year is Josh Jackson of the West team. The 6’7 shooting forward is ranked No. 1 on both Rivals and 247Sports, and though he hasn’t decided on a college team yet, his list is narrowed down to Arizona, Kansas and Michigan State.

Other five-star recruits to watch on the West include Malik Monk (committed to Kentucky), Lonzo Ball (UCLA), Frank Jackson (Duke), T.J. Leaf (UCLA), Marques Bolden, Josh Langford (Michigan State), Jarrett Allen and Dewan Huell (Miami). The Bruins in particular will be watching the pair of recruits they nabbed here — the heat is turning up on Steve Alford after another disappointing season.

The East team is headlined by Jayson Tatum, ranked No. 3 overall on Rivals and 247Sports. Only Jackson and Harry Giles are ahead of Tatum on both lists, and the Blue Devils got a big haul this year — Giles and Tatum have both committed to Coach K’s team.

The East team boasts two other top-10 talents in De’Aaron Fox and Bam Adebayo, who are both heading to Kentucky next fall. Markelle Fultz (No. 9 on Rivals, No. 13 on 247Sports) is another five-star recruit on this team and is going to Washington — one of Lorenzo Romar’s bigger recruiting coups in recent years.

Miles Bridges (Michigan State), Terrance Ferguson, Kobi Simmons (Arizona), V.J. King (Louisville), Sacha Killeya-Jones (Kentucky) and Udoka Azubuike (Kansas) round out the five-star recruits representing the East.
