Josh Jackson is going to Lawrence. The five-star wing considered to be the best player in the class of 2016 by Rivals announced his decision to attend Kansas on Monday night. He picked the Jayhawks over Michigan State and Arizona.

Jackson is a 6’7 small forward who grew up in Detroit and spent his last two years of high school playing in California. He won a gold medal as one of four high school players competing for the United States at the FIBA U19 World Championship. He is one of the best pure athletes in the class of 2016, projects as a great perimeter defender and plays with a unique brand of intensity that should endear him quickly to coach Bill Self.
This is a major get for Kansas. Jackson follows in the foot steps of elite wing prospects like Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre to commit to the Jayhawks. He’ll join a team that loses star power forward Perry Ellis, but brings back much of its core from last season’s No. 1 overall seed entering the NCAA Tournament.
Jackson is currently projected to go No. 3 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft by DraftExpress. Jackson has been considered to have star potential for a long time. Self got himself a good one.
